Boao Forum and Cavendish Group's first International Capital Conference in London 2008.

5 Jun 2008

Cavendish Group s inaugural International Capital Conference (ICC) took place at the historic Central Hall Westminster, London from 3rd to 5th June 2008 in partnership with the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).

Driven by face to face meetings, the conference attracted over 150 senior Chinese business leaders the largest Chinese business delegation ever to visit London. Top level speakers included the Rt.hon. Tessa Jowell, Minister for London and the 2012 Olympic Games; Madam Fu Ying, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Embassy in the UK and The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman David Lewis.

ICC is now set to become the world's leading annual financial services conference dedicated to the principal emerging markets the "BRIC" countries of China, India, Russia and Brazil.

More than 100 one-to-one business meetings between delegates and some of the world s leading financial institutions took place at the conference.

The conference helped delegates to solve capitalraising challenges and brought them insights into overcoming regulatory problems in cross-border takeovers, as well as providing direct contact with people who provide the services delegates need to help their companies expand abroad.

Mr Long Yongtu, the Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia commented that London is one of the best linked places and provides an important gateway for Chinese companies looking to enter African, Indian and American markets.
